Hard wood floors are a terrific choice if you can afford them, and if you can spend some time in their maintenance. If your budget doesn't allow for an oak or cherry floor, consider a laminated wood floor instead. It's affordable and easy to maintain. It doesn't show as much water damage as other wood varieties, and it doesn't scratch or chip or dent like wood floors sometimes do in high traffic areas.
An entry level laminated floor will take low to moderate traffic with no problem at all. If you have a high traffic area that you want a wood floor for, consider a thicker core. Laminate floors come with a core thickness of 6 mm to 12 mm. A thicker core will not swell due to excessive moisture, and will not buckle or bend out of shape when walked on. This resistance to moisture makes laminated floors perfect for areas like bathrooms and kitchens, where the potential for water damage is high.
Hardwood flooring is undoubtedly matchless -- but it's also expensive and can be hard to care for deepening on the species of wood used. Combine the good looks of a hard wood floor with ease of maintenance and affordability that's unlike other wood floors. Laminated wood floors are the right choice if you want a versatile looking floor that's affordable. I need my master bedroom done. I already have the wooden floors. the room is square, and is 210 sq feet. There is no flooring currently down so all I need it the flooring installed. I will need them glued down for installation.
